Two places in Greeley itself say they evaluate children for autism. Three more are a drive to Fort Collins. That is the whole list within 45 minutes.
We checked this ourselves rather than trusting a directory. In August 2026 we looked at 16 providers that come up when a Greeley parent searches for an autism evaluation, and read each one's own website. Five of them state on their own site that they evaluate children for autism at an address you can drive to. What follows is what each one actually publishes, and where a cell says not published, that is what we found, not a gap we forgot to fill.

That last row matters in this county. Greeley has a large Spanish-speaking population, and not one provider states that the evaluation itself can be done in Spanish.
Not one provider publishes the number parents actually want either, which is how long from the first phone call to the first appointment. Three publish something time-shaped. None publishes that.
What is out of date online about autism providers in Greeley
Six of the 16 providers we checked had something on the internet about them that their own website contradicts.
- Hopebridge. Several directories list a Hopebridge center in Greeley. Hopebridge's own site has no Colorado section at all. Its center list runs Alabama through Tennessee with no Colorado.
- NoCo Speech. Directories publish a Greeley street address. Their own site publishes no street address anywhere. The business restructured into a referral collective.
- Colorado Center for Assessment. Directories describe a Johnstown office. Their own contact page lists only Fort Collins.
- A Longmont psychologist still listed in directories as evaluating children from 5 to 60 states on her own site that she no longer offers formal evaluations, and now sees adults only.
- A page titled "Greeley, CO" from a neuropsychologist ranks for this search. Its own address block reads Livingston, New Jersey, and the same page says he can help "if you are located in New Jersey."
- Banner North Colorado Medical Center. The behavioral health service its own site names is emergency crisis assessment, not developmental or autism diagnosis.
This is the reason we read provider websites instead of directories, and the reason we date-stamped every row above.
How we checked 16 autism evaluation providers near Greeley
We took every provider that turned up for autism evaluation searches around Greeley, Fort Collins, Loveland, Longmont, Windsor and Johnstown, then applied two tests: does it publish a real address within about 45 minutes of Greeley, and does its own website say it evaluates children for autism. Sixteen providers went in. Five came out.
Drive times were measured from Greeley City Hall using OpenStreetMap geocoding and OSRM routing, both free and public, so anyone can repeat them. We counted a provider as publishing something only when it appeared on the provider's own site. Directories were used to find candidates, never as a source. We made no phone calls, so everything above is what a parent can find at 11pm without waiting for an office to open.
Two judgement calls worth stating. We counted UNC even though its service does not open until Fall 2026, because it is taking waitlist applications now, and we flagged it in the table rather than hiding it among the four that are running. And we read "wait" broadly: a waitlist, a referral turnaround and a report turnaround all counted, even though none of them answers how long you will actually wait for an appointment.
Two free routes to an autism diagnosis in Weld County
Both are free, both start with a phone call, and neither requires a diagnosis first.
Under age 3, call Envision. Envision is the only Early Intervention broker in Weld County. It assigns a Resource Coordinator within 3 days of referral, and the coordinator usually goes with you to the evaluation and helps write a family service plan within 45 days, delivered in your preferred language. Envision has served Weld County for more than 60 years and supports over 1,500 children and adults each year.
From age 3, call Greeley-Evans District 6. Child Find evaluation runs through the district's special education office on (970) 348-6103. The state education department is plain about the cost: Child Find is provided at no cost to families, and any adult concerned about a child can make the referral.
What Child Find gives you is an educational eligibility decision, not a medical diagnosis. It opens the door to school services and an IEP. It usually will not satisfy a private insurer that wants a clinical diagnosis before authorizing therapy. With private waits running 8 to 12 months in northern Colorado, starting a free route in parallel is the practical move.

How Medicaid and insurance pay for an autism evaluation
Weld County sits in Medicaid Region 2, run by Northeast Health Partners on (800) 541-6870, the same region as Larimer and the northeast plains. Advice written for Denver families points at a different organization, a different network and a different authorization process, so it does not apply here.
On Health First Colorado, the state is explicit that a diagnosis is not a prerequisite for behavioral therapy:
"Does my child have to have a diagnosis of Autism to qualify for the services? No. Behavioral therapy is available to all children currently eligible for Health First Colorado when the service is medically necessary."

Envision handles Early Intervention for children under 3. Eligibility for developmental disability services moved to the Weld County Case Management Agency in 2024. For the Children's Extensive Support waiver, Weld County has its own Case Management Agency on 970-400-6950. Colorado ended its separate Children with Autism Waiver in 2018, so ABA is now covered for eligible children under 21 through Health First Colorado's EPSDT benefit instead. Autism evaluations in Spanish near Greeley
Greeley-Evans District 6 serves families speaking more than 80 languages, and roughly two thirds of its students are Hispanic or Latino. Interpretation at a school meeting is routine here, not a special request.

A developmental screening at a well-child visit is not an evaluation. Screening flags a concern. A diagnostic evaluation is what produces a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder, written as ASD in most reports, and it is the document insurers read.
A full evaluation usually takes two to four hours and is assembled from a standard set of parts.

Ask about report turnaround separately from the appointment wait. Two practices with the same appointment date can be six weeks apart on the document that actually unlocks services.
