ABA Therapy by Autism Support Level
Many parents search for ABA therapy by autism level because the words on an evaluation can feel confusing. Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 describe how much support a child may need, but they do not tell the whole story.
At Budding Futures, a BCBA looks at your child's communication, safety, routines, independence, behavior, and family goals before building an in-home ABA plan. The level helps describe need; it does not decide the plan by itself.

What autism support levels mean
The DSM-5 describes autism in three support levels. Level 1 generally means a child needs some support, Level 2 means more substantial support, and Level 3 means very substantial support. The level is set during a diagnostic evaluation and reflects how much help a child needs with social communication and flexible behavior.
Why the level does not determine the whole ABA plan
Two children with the same level can need very different plans. ABA intensity and goals depend on the child, medical necessity, family needs, payer rules, and clinical assessment, not the label alone. A child described as Level 1 may still need focused help with anxiety, transitions, or social skills, and a Level 3 child may make strong progress with the right in-home plan and parent coaching.
How in-home ABA can support every level
Because Budding Futures works in your home, the plan can target the things that matter most where they actually happen: asking for help at snack time, staying safe near the door, handling a transition before school, or building independence in the morning routine. A BCBA writes and supervises the plan, trained RBTs run the sessions, and parents are coached so the gains continue between visits.
How Budding Futures evaluates fit
We start with a BCBA-led assessment using tools like the VB-MAPP and ABLLS-R where appropriate, then build goals around communication, safety, daily living, and family routines. We also verify Medicaid or insurance benefits and explain medical necessity before therapy starts.
